Flea & Tick Protection for Southwest
Oklahoma Families
Fleas and ticks don’t just irritate your pets—they bite people, cause persistent itching, and can spread disease. In Southwest Oklahoma, they thrive in yards, under decks, in crawl spaces, and in shaded areas where pets like to rest. Once inside, they can quickly spread through carpets, furniture, and pet bedding.
Boots Pest & Weed Control offers targeted flea and tick treatments for homes and yards across Lawton, Elgin, and nearby communities. We don’t replace your veterinarian’s role—we complement it. Our goal is to reduce flea and tick populations in and around your home so your pet’s medications can do their job more effectively.

Local Kid & Pet-Friendly Flea & Tick Control
A Whole-Property Approach to Fleas & Ticks
Fleas and ticks have multiple life stages—eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults—and they don’t all live on your pets. Many are in carpets, cracks, soil, and shaded outdoor areas. That’s why we treat your property as a whole system rather than just focusing on one room.
Your technician will:
- Inspect indoor hot spots: pet beds, carpets, rugs, and furniture
- Check outdoor resting areas: under decks, in shaded spots, and around the yard perimeter
- Identify what’s attracting fleas and ticks and where they’re most concentrated
We then develop a treatment plan designed to break the life cycle and reduce populations over time.
Indoor & Outdoor Flea & Tick Treatments
Your flea and tick service may include:
- Targeted indoor applications to carpets, baseboards, and cracks
- Outdoor treatments to key resting and breeding zones in the yard
- Recommendations for vacuuming, washing pet bedding, and clutter reduction
- Coordination with your veterinarian’s flea & tick products for your pets
Because of their life cycle, you may continue to see some activity for a short time after treatment as pre-existing pupae emerge—this is normal and usually declines as the products take effect.

Flea & Tick Control FAQs
Do you treat my pets directly?
No. We treat your home and yard. Your veterinarian should handle flea and tick products for your pets. Working together is the best way to get long-term results.
How many treatments will I need?
Moderate infestations may respond well to one thorough service plus your cooperation on vacuuming and laundry. Heavy infestations often require a follow-up visit. We’ll set expectations up front.
Will I still need to vacuum after treatment?
Yes. Vacuuming helps remove eggs, larvae, and pupae and encourages more fleas to emerge into contact with treated surfaces. It’s an important part of the process.
Are flea and tick treatments safe for kids and pets?
We use professional products and follow label directions carefully. Once treated surfaces are dry, normal use is typically safe. Your technician will explain any special instructions.
Can fleas and ticks come back after treatment?
They can, especially if untreated animals or wildlife bring them onto your property. That’s why ongoing pet protection and, in some cases, recurring yard treatments are recommended.
